MOTORCYCLES:

Past - Present - Future

Biker in the Woods

About This Site

The purpose of this site is to document the different motorcycles I have owned so far in my motorcycling journey, and the motorcycle I hope to own one day. I want to document them by comparing them. Provided will be a basic spec sheet of each motorcyle, a comparison of stock exhaust sound, and professional reviews of each bike.

The 3 motorcycles are the 1992 Honda Nighthawk 750(Past), the 2023 Honda CB500X(Present), and the 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro(Hopefully Future).

It may be helpful to know my motorcycling background. I did not grow up motorcycling, and I did not have any significant person to look up to that rode motorcycles. I purly saw motorcycling as something fun and enticing as a kid. Every time I saw a biker, I thought there was somthing cool they had that I wanted. My time to start my motorcycle journey didn't come until I was 21 and married living in Chicago. My wife new it was a dream of mine to learn, and she supported me so much that when I went to take the class, she went with me and we both got our motorcycle licenses. After that summer of 2018, I rode a friends motorcycle a few times, but I finally bought my own in September of 2019. I bought it for $500 and ended up putting about $2000 into it to make it safe and ridable again. I put about 5,500 miles on that before I sold it in April of 2023. At that point, I needed another motorcycle which I bought new for about $6,999 msrp. That is still the motorcycle I ride at the momenet and I just passed 6,400 miles on it. In the 5 or so years that I have been riding motorcycles, I have riden about 12,000 miles with many of those miles being rode trips. I am still considered a beginner and have made a lot of rookie mistakes. But I am getting better and having more fun with every mile I ride

My hope is that these motorcycles or bikes spur some excitement for others to be interested in riding to enjoy life.
